Afternoon Tea service is as wide-ranging as a kaleidoscope, however one of the finest examples can be found at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Las Vegas.
The Mandarin provides a luxurious experience all around. It is unique in that it is one of the few smoke-free and non-gaming hotels on The Strip. Their Classic English Afternoon Tea service is one to remember. It takes place in their “Tea Lounge” which is the perfect description of the atmosphere. Lounging in the luscious couches and chairs, you are overtaken by the beautiful view of The Strip in front of you. You have the option to start the service off with a champagne or specialty tea cocktail, such as the “Tea-tini”. From there you have a wide selection of freshly brewed loose leaf teas from all over the world. The menu goes into great detail about each tea, including a “Monkey Picked Oolong”.
As within the tradition of afternoon tea, you are next presented with an array of small delicacies. The uniqueness of the Mandarin Oriental’s food is what sets them apart. These are not your everyday tea sandwiches, these are well thought out, delicious sandwiches and snacks. Pictured below is the curry chicken, trumpet mushroom and Asian persimmon on sesame cone, which seems to be the most unique. These treats are accompanied by scones and the chef ’s selection of assorted tea pastries. Alongside the great food, you get even better service. The staff is friendly and hard working; making sure you always have what you need.
The Mandarin is the perfect combination of quality ingredients, great service, and relaxing atmosphere that make the Afternoon Tea Service at Mandarin Oriental one of the best.
