Dean Dillon Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame

On November 21, 2021, Dean Dillon alongside Marty Stuart and Hank Williams Jr. were officially inducted as the Country Music Hall of Fames class of 2020. The medallion ceremony was postponed due to the pandemic but it was well worth the wait.

Country music stars gathered from far and wide to celebrate these three stars. Throughout the night heartfelt tributes and songs they wrote or made famous were performed. George Strait, who Dean has written a library of number 1 hits for, performed “The Chair” as well as presented Dean with his Medallion. Kenny Chesney sang “A Lot of Things Different” and Brittney Spencer sang “Tennessee Whiskey”.

When Dean first received the call that he was being inducted he said, “Dumbfounded me sat there for about three minutes, four minutes. I was in shock. My life is racing through my mind, you know? And finally, I said something stupid, like, ‘Well, I’ve given my life to country music.’
