The Misnomered Book: Eleven Rings by Phil Jackson

Phil Jackson embraces the spirit of the Wildcatter both on and off the court.

Phil Jackson’s eighth book, titled Eleven Rings, is a journey through his career as an NBA coach. Jackson won 6 championship rings with the Chicago Bulls, followed by 5 more rings with the Los Angeles Lakers. Hence the title: Eleven Rings.

But wait…let’s not forget about the two NBA championship rings he earned as a player for the New York Knicks. Sounds like thirteen rings to me. This guy has figured out how to win!

Nicknamed the Zen Master, Jackson focused on bringing out the positive qualities of his players instead of allowing their egos to overshadow the goals of the team. Consider this challenge of dealing with superstars such Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and the supposedly “uncoachable” Dennis Rodman, and you will get a greater appreciation of the phenomenal skills of Jackson.

Phil Jackson embraces the spirit of the Wildcatter both on and off the court. Not only is this book entertaining, it is filled with life lessons that will help anyone embrace their inner-Wildcatter!!
