The American Museum of Natural History in New York City is a beast of a museum; one could only dream of seeing every exhibit in it. It is one of those museums that you keep coming back to time and time again, only to discover something new every time. There are a variety of seasonal exhibits, a very popular one being The Butterfly Conservatory. It is perfect for those bitter winter days; open now through May 28, 2018. You get to see and learn about all the stages of metamorphosis for butterflies and moths. Hundreds of butterflies fly around and are perched wherever you look. Get an up close look at the design on the wings, which are made by thousands of scales, arrayed in intricate patterns.
