Lebron James recently opened this groundbreaking new school in his hometown to give at risk students a chance for college.
Everything included: The I Promise School provides its students with everything from supplies and clothes to food and counseling services for students and families…parents even have the option of using the schools job and career resources.
Educating the whole child: The curriculum is STEM heavy to prepare students for future jobs in technology, but onsite counselors as well as outside mentors are actively involved in teaching life skills not taught in traditional classrooms, as well as provide emotional and psychological services to students and families.
More than just a school day: School will run longer hours and more days than other traditional public schools, and the campus and support programs will remain open and accessible during normally off hours in order to provide more structure and support for students.
For the people: I Promise is a true public school…not relying on vouchers or operating on a charter or private school model.
Treating teachers right: Teachers at the innovative school also have access to the school counseling services and top quality facilities, as well as professional development opportunities and competitive salaries to retain the best.
