Black Rock is a truly unique whisky bar and since it is in London we will use the “whisky” spelling.
The Black Rock has an 185 year old 18-ft long oak tree with a trunk that has been split in half and placed right in the bar. It has two channels cut straight into the tree full of whisky. Of the two channels, one is lined with European oak and the other channel is lined with American oak. Taps deliver the golden liquid straight to your glass. Now that is an interactive aging system that is both quirky, visual, and innovating.
Reservations are not needed but recommended if you want a spot at the “whisky trunk”. Of course craft cocktails are available too but a tree trunk with a built in aging river of whisky is and should be the main attraction.
