Ever since 1897, July in Cheyenne, Wyoming means one thing: time for Cheyenne Frontier Days. Known as “The Daddy of ‘Em All,” Cheyenne Frontier Days is the world’s largest outdoor rodeo, but that’s not all. More than just a world-famous rodeo, Frontier Days is a complete western experience for the whole family, containing an Indian village, an old frontier town with a saloon, chuckwagons, and even a carnival. Then after dark, Frontier Nights showcases some of today and yesterday’s best country, rock, and pop artists. Some of this year’s headliners include Florida Georgia Line, Toby Keith, Eric Church, Charlie Daniel’s Band, and Nickelback.

The rodeo features many different events, such as, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, bull riding and a wild horse race. Be sure to buy a ticket for the World Championship Bull Riding event, which has a grand prize of $100,000 as well as one of the most prestigious titles a bull rider can hope to win. During the rest of the year when the rodeo isn’t rocking, there is the Old West Museum on site, which is open daily. This museum features a large collection of western artifacts, a history of Cheyenne Frontier Days exhibit, and the most extensive collection of carriages west of the Mississippi, according to them. With over 500,000 people in attendance over a ten-day period, Cheyenne Frontier Days celebrates western roots with a festival that is truly like no other.
