WILDCATTER TIPS

Annual Event:

Festival of Concheros

  • Celebrated on the first Friday of March, groups of Conchero dancers congregate in the morning to pray at La Parroquia church. They then begin dancing in the plaza until sunset to honor one the church’s statues, “Our Lord of the Conquest.” They are outfitted in elaborate feather headdresses and tunics in a great display of their indigenous culture.

Weekends:

Wedding Parades

  • Very common to see parades marching through the streets after a wedding. Large paper mache bride and groom puppets as well as mariachis lead the group in celebration.
