Wildcatter Profiles: EGOT Winners

The people on this list are by nature multi-talented, but like true Wildcatters, their interests reach far beyond one industry.

The verb “to EGOT” has entered pop culture vernacular as a way to identify someone who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award. Last weekend at the Oscars, Robert Lopez made history by becoming the first person to double-EGOT, but he is by no means to first to win all four prestigious entertainment awards. The people on this list are by nature multi-talented, but like true Wildcatters, their interests reach far beyond one industry.

1. Audrey Hepburn – $100 million

On top of being an internationally recognizable actress, model, and dancer, Audrey Hepburn is largely recognized as a fashion icon and later became a powerful humanitarian. From Dutch nobility to screen legend to UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, the Breakfast at Tiffany’s and My Fair Lady star used her commercial appeal to garner awareness and raise money for her chosen causes.

2. Mel Brooks – $100 million

Artistic genius and king of cult classics, Brooks is responsible for fan favorites such as Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, and The Producers. On top of his prolific work acting, directing, producing, composing, and writing, he eventually switched to the other side and started his own production company, Brooksfilms. An industry influencer and active philanthropist, Brooks is a cultural icon.

3. Whoopi Goldberg – $45 million

Whoopi Goldberg is an entertainment legend. Comedian, actor, singer, writer, and talk show host, her career has been full of diverse collaborations and unique projects that were both commercially successful and critically acclaimed. She is also an outspoken activist, best-selling author, and successful entrepreneur. One of the most awarded entertainers of all time, Goldberg broke records and paved the way for women and people of color in the industry.

4. Robert Lopez – Net Worth N/A

Whether you knew his name before last week or not, Robert Lopez has been dominating several entertainment industries behind the scenes for years, from epically successful Broadway hits such as Avenue Q and Book of Mormon to scoring commercially successful Disney films such as Frozen and Coco. Lopez and his wife/partner are activists in their private life and seek to promote cultural awareness and social change through their films, which they make for their daughters.
