We are proud investors of Media for Texas, a company with the mission to increase state incentives and in-state media production, ensuring more moving media projects are born and stay in the state, supporting the talented creatives and crew who live and work in Texas.
Due to poor tax incentives, too many talented Texans are leaving our state to pursue entertainment careers elsewhere. Media for Texas is lobbing for better incentives that bring projects and job opportunities to Texas for those who already live and work here. They are working to ensure that the next legislative session sees a transition from the 2 year grant program we currently have to the Long Term Incentive Tax Credit program.
This will help incentivize productions to come here (because they can afford to do so with the tax credit) rather than losing shoots and Texas stories to our neighbors (Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Georgia).
It will benefit local enterprises through the purchase of tax credits from the
aforementioned productions.
