Based out of Austin, Texas, Gravitant was formed in 2004 as an IT consulting company. In 2009, Gravitant transitioned into a “product” company, with its main product being cloudMatrix. Gravitant worked with businesses and governments worldwide to help in the sourcing, procurement, and governance of the cloud. The Wildcatters Network made an investment in Gravitant’s Series B round in October of 2014. IBM purchased Gravitant in November of 2015 for $93,000,000.
