Definition Of Success

What is your definition of success?

“What is the definition of success?”

This is an age-old question that never quite has the same answer. So perhaps a better question is:

“What is your definition of success?”

Success is different for everyone, and success varies throughout different areas of your life. You could be a successful business person, but an unsuccessful parent or partner because you spent all of your time at the office. So in that case, one could say that balance is a version of success. Money can be a version of success in life, but not always. Imagine if your house burnt down due to uncontrollable events and you lost everything. Does that make you a failure now? No, it is just another curve ball life has thrown at you.

It is important to create your own definition of success. This doesn’t mean you get to set the bar low for yourself, then magically you are successful. No, it means coming up with a plan that doesn’t let those curveballs strike you out! Guillaume Wolf describes success best in his book, You Are A Message, when he says, “Success is a mental process. It’s a journey through ups and down, driven by continuous improvements, persistence, long-term vision, truth, focus, and hard work.”
