We here at the Wildcatters Network spend a great deal of time and energy trying to convey the ideals of a Wildcatter to our readers. In a few simple sentences George R.R. Martin, the author of Game of Thrones,succinctly summarized the vision of the Network. In Private Clubs magazine, Martin was quoted as saying:
“Investing in stocks and bonds and mutual funds is pretty boring. It doesn’t appeal to me. I’ve invested in things that are exciting – and I do think they are giving something back to this community.”

Martin lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and has invested a considerable amount of money to help support the thriving art community. He helps support local artists with an art collective, and he has re-opened the Jean Cocteau Cinema in 2013. This historic old building now has the multi-faceted energy of a movie theater, art gallery, bar, bookstore, and, occasionally, stand-up comedy nights and other live performances. Well done, George!
