Blue Apron for your Blue Heeler?

A Gourmet Dog Food Subscription Service

If you make it exclusive enough, they will come. This is something that Jonathan Regev and Brett Podolsky have learned and mastered with their new line of gourmet dog food for your paleo pooch. The Farmer’s Dog, the company founded by these two ambitious young entrepreneurs living in New York, delivers balanced, freshly made pet food with simple recipes, guided by science, and driven by love. The pet food has not only been tested on humans, but is personalized for your specific pet’s needs. The meals are delivered to your door, fresh, never frozen, pre-proportioned and ready to pour. The doggie delicacies have become so increasingly popular that there is currently a waitlist for pet owners.

Regev and Podolsky are both dog owners, and the idea, not surprisingly, came to them from personal experience. Podolsky had been told by his vet to cook certain meals for his dog due to her stomach ailments. Every time he tried to switch back to store bought food, she’d get sick again. Next thing you know, Podolsky is cooking meals for an eighty pound Rottweiler in his tiny New York kitchen. The duo spent the next year developing recipes and formulas, and the end result was a startup subscription-based pet food company that uses real meat and vegetables. Are these two founders on their way to Wildcatter status? Possibly so. If their creativity continues to flourish into other business ventures with such success, they will be Hall of Famers in no time.
