Learn Outside the Box

There is no wrong way to learn

The great thing about learning is how many different ways there are to do it. Visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic learning are just a few styles. There is no wrong way to learn, everyone is different in how they absorb and retain new information. We all know the typical ways of learning, but what happens when you think and learn outside of the box? It gives you the opportunity to exercise your mind with new techniques and in return expanding your knowledge. Check out some of our ideas for unique learning styles below:

1. Put a world map above your desk, an anatomy poster behind your bathroom door, the periodic table of elements as your computer background. Posters don’t have to be elementary, incorporate nicely designed pieces into your decor and watch your knowledge grow.

2. Change the language on your phone to the one you’re learning to keep you on your toes!

3. If you are visual learner, try adding illustrations to your flashcards. Drawing/coloring will help you relax as well as help you remember the important facts associated with your visuals.

4. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. “One of my goals is to become the best version of myself that I can, and in the short term, my questions might seem dumb. But in the long term, asking those questions will make me smarter — and a more valuable asset,” says John Hall, Forbes Contributor.

5. Listen to a podcast, from finance to pop culture, podcasts are great because you can multitask while listening. Go on a walk or cook dinner all while learning something new!
